The impressive engagement to the local people and the commitment among the small scale enterprises have been strengthen in partnership. Join this trip and you will meet passionate people; from the people behind responsible tourism in The Gambia to the small scale producers willing to share their experiences.

Day 1: Arrival in The Gambia.

Meet representatives from ASSET and transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner at the hotel and brief introduction about the week program. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2: Visit to small scale enterprises (ASSET members).After breakfast travel with guide and transportation to visit small scale enterprises, all ASSET members. At each place you will be introduced to the project and how it benefits the local communities. Visit Timbookto ASSET Information Center and Culture Encounter where local juice and pancakes will be served. Other ASSET members to visit may be Paper Recycling Skills Project and GiG farm - Gambia is Good (Issues of supply chain) where lunch will be served at the GiG farm. The rest of the day is at own leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Explore a Community Based Camp.After breakfast transfer to Berefet Cultural Camp which is famous for its drumming and dancing lessons. This camp is totally run by the nearby local community. Here you will learn how a community based camp is operated and how it benefits the local community. Experience the everyday life in The Gambia; enjoy the forest nature with many Baobab trees and the view of the river. Dancing and drumming classes are available and led by renowned local artists. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Community Based Camp.
After breakfast you will have some time to explore the camp and take part in local activities before lunch is served and return to your hotel. The rest of the day at own leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Workshop in Responsible Tourism at Institute of Travel and Tourism in The Gambia (ITTG).After breakfast transfer to ITTG. Workshop/class with the students at ITTG.Discussion topics: ASSET members that have been visited the previous days. Groupwork and discussions in terms of responsible tourism guidelines.The rest of the day is at own leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Meet local suppliers and visit BAFROW.
After breakfast travel with your guide to visit representatives from fruit sellers and juice pressers. Then visit BAFROW a successful women run project. You will hear from the women about the project and the activities and programs BAFROW is offering; from the clinic, local bakery to the library. This successful project is now a model village for other places in The Gambia. Return back to your hotel in early afternoon. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7: Sum up and farewell dinner at Kololi Village Gallery.The day is free to own activities. In the evening transfer to Village Gallery to sum up our experiences and lesson learned the last days. Dinner will be served at the Gallery and culture group performance of Jola dancers from Kololi village.
Day 8: Departure The Gambia.Your trip has come to an end. This day is free until departure to airport. Transfer in the afternoon.
