• Culture and nature adventure along the coast

Explore the local village, Gunjur with our local guide Serani, whose forefathers were the first settlers in the village. The stories are many, and he will bring you to places of interest, like the market, fishing village, the schools, local handicraft workshops and even his home to meet his family.

Many local initiatives can be visited. One impressive one is the Gunjur Village Museum, a story about one man´s passion and drive to open a village museum to conserve the heritage and history of the village. Or, visit the Reptile farm and learn more about which snakes that are completely harmless and which are not. Set up to teach youngsters about their natural assets.

You are very close to Senegal, and a favourite experience is a trip on the river in a dog-out canoe. Cross over to Senegal for you breakfast or lunch. Depending on how early you mange to get out of bed!

We also recommend you to keep some days open to enjoy the lodge, with its facilities like freshwater pool, have a massage, join the residential workshop with woodcarver, silversmith, tailor or tie & dye. Or simply chill down and enjoy the peace and quite.
