• Self-guided hikes in the Carpathians in Transylvania

You trek in beautiful National Parks, Piatra Craiului and bucegi in famous Carpathians in Transylvania Romania. Hike from village to village, surrounded by mountains and fascinating landscape. Our self-guided hikes go to areas that are well marked and in easy terrain.

Start the week in the heart of Romania and Transylvania, Brasov. Get to know the historic town before you are greeted with a traditional welcome dinner and information about the upcoming week and the trails.

The next day we drive you to Bran, with opportunity to visit Bran Castle (Drakula Castle). From here walk to Magura, an authentic small mountain hamlet that links Piatra Craiului National Park with the Bucegi Mountains. The trail goes through forest and meadows with beautiful view to both mountains and mountain hamlets. Stay here for a couple of nights and make a visit to the Bat Cave, a national treasure worth visiting.

Continue on through picturesque mountain villages Pestera, Sirnea and Fundata where you will meet locals and immersive into culture and nature. Stay a couple of nights in Fundata, surrounded by the Bucegi Mountains and Piatra Craiului Mountains with altitude at about 1360 meters which makes it one of the villages on highest altitude.

Continue your trekking to Moeciu de Sus, and onwards to the peaks with splendid view. This village is known for its scenery and traditions in making cheese and products of wool.

On your last day drive to the starting point of “7 Ladder´s Canyon”.This valley is made by limestone and seven waterfalls. The highest fall is 15 meters. The trail is put together by stairs and viewpoints and require some effort!

End your trek in Brasov, or spend a couple of nights in the capital.
